Your snow story starts here
Snowy mountains, 7/11 snacks and steaming bowls of ramen. Days spent learning something new, evenings soaking in natural onsens and questionable karaoke performances with people you’ve only just met.
You’ve pictured yourself here. Now you get to give it a go.
From your host, Pashy
February 2024I went on a solo snowboard trip to Japan after only snowboarding three times. No crew, no real plan and no idea what I was getting myself into.
I fell in love with it—the culture, the people, the food and the insane powder.
Snow sports can feel like a world you need someone to invite you into. I wanted to open that door—to make it easier to give it a go, even if you don’t know where to start or have anyone to go with.
Now I’m heading back for my third trip. This time, you’re invited.
Never skied or snowboarded before? Perfect. Introduction to Japow is your chance to learn a snow sport in Japan, with a crew finding their feet alongside you.
With five days on the mountain and two lessons included, there’s time to learn the basics, laugh through the wobbly bits and build your confidence, one run at a time.
Beginners and early intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Maybe you’ve never seen snow. Maybe you’ve ridden a few times and want to feel more confident.
You don’t need to be good at it already—you just need to be up for giving it a go.

The details
We’ll stay in a ski lodge, shared hostel-style base, sharing rooms, bathrooms and stories from the day. Somewhere to recharge between mountain adventures, get to know the crew and settle into life in the snow.
We’ve planned the trip with space to do your own thing. Some evenings are free to explore, find somewhere to eat or head out for drinks. Lunch is up to you too — dine on the mountain or grab some famous Japanese convenience store snacks.
Want another lesson or an extra day on the mountain? These can be added at your own expense whilst on the trip.

Breakfast, then your first lesson. Ramen to refuel.
Second lesson, more confidence, then a soak at the group onsen.
Ride with the crew. Midweek dinner and drinks.
Sleep in, explore, or ride another day on your lift pass.
Back on the snow for more laps and chaotic chairlift conversations. Did someone say Après?
One last ride, then a farewell dinner with the crew.
Final breakfast, goodbyes and departures. Until the next one.

More Life Collective Boarding pass
Snow trips are better with a crew.
Sharing the first turns, the falls you’ll laugh about later, and debriefing over delicious ramen with people who are just as excited to be there.
The hardest part? Finding people who want the same adventure and are actually ready to book the flight.
Come solo or bring a mate. There’s a crew here to share it with.
